Cake Walk

Remember those? I used to love the cake walks they would have at the school fair. Those were so much fun...and SO rewarding! Have I mentioned that I love cake? Cause I do....corner slice with lots of icing, please!

So next week Mark and I are suppose to have our cake tasting as well as picking out what we want for our cake. So do you know what that means?? I need help deciding! Over the past several months I've been collecting pictures of cakes that I like. I figure I'll post them all here and you can tell me which one is your favorite! Sound like a plan?!? Well here we go....

So, as you can tell...I'm looking for a damask-like design. I'm thinking probably 4 layers. And obviously, we would change the colors on any of these cakes to match our color scheme and add flowers as a cake topper.  So, what do you guys think? Which is your favorite? Suggestions for colors on your favorite? How about flowers? ..would you add them? ...where and what color?Remember, our colors are b/w damask, deep aubergine purple and pale aqua blue.

*Also, I apologize, but because I collected these images over the span of SEVERAL months, I no longer have the websites where I got them from. So, if one of these is your image then let me know and I'll credit you for it* Thanks!

I love #6. If you indecisive guys need a third, more definitive answer during the cake tasting, I'm your girl!!

I like number 4. i think it matches the theme but isnt overpowering like some of them with the design all over. i may put a one or two flowers throughout and a couple on top and the base, but not a whole lot. i kinda like it in the black and white. I also like the colored cakes like the first one, but it looks really stiff (if that makes sense) and I'm not too crazy about the design. I think it would look good in a light or deep purple or even the aqua color.

i like the simplistic yet elegant design of #1. they are all neat looking. is there a way to get wedding cake that tastes like birthday cake?

Actually, the third is most exquisite one. It's occured to me that elegant princess. But if the cake will be propare for your coming wedding, the second may be much more suitable. You know every girl must dream her sweet wedding, yeah, all things with pink, white, and other colors. No matter...,the warm colors may make you feel you are the lovely and sweet princess.

Our 1st choice is #3 because it is very elegant & sophisticated. It is both traditional and non-traditional at the same time. Our 2nd choice would be #1 because it is very unique, non-traditional,and whimsical.

Hi there! I love the first image!! Also, I posted a few of those cakes on my blog months ago...not sure if you found your inspiration there, or on another site. In any case, cake # 2 is photography and event design by: Cassandra & David Dierterle. Cake 5 and 6 are from The Knot. You can find the phoographer and cake baker on the site :) Happy Wedding Planning!! :)

i like 3 and 6. Number 6 looks like it fits the house really well. it kind of looks "old lady"-esque in a good way, i guess it's the pale faded looking color and lace look.

I have to admit I'm really digging the first picture (green cakes). I would have never thought that green wedding cakes could be elegant and classy, but these cakes seem to do just that.

I love the last one-- I like the softness, and I think it is the most timeless. I also think it wont detract from you and the dress in pics, and I am a little worried that some of the others may
