Pretty in Purple

i found this picture a while back on a photographer's blog or something (i think?? i can't remember!!). I LOVE the color of the dresses though...it's the perfect shade of purple! Look at how good it looks on all the bridesmaids and it goes so well with the ivory... {swoon} :)

Wherever i found this photo, it didn't give any info on the dresses. So...by any chance...does anyone know who these dresses are made by?? I know it's a shot in the dark, but i figured doing a little detective work couldn't hurt!

Confession: I Like Girly Things

...And I think the wedding is really bringing that out in me :)

I mean come on...how cute is this?!?

It's Frilly, It's Girly, It's Pretty AND it's in our wedding color. AND....I think I need it. Ahhhh.... TOO CUTE! :)

Tall Centerpieces

So we've established that we need tall centerpieces in our reception venue because of the height of the tent, but i'm having a hard time figuring out what those centerpieces should look like. I KNOW that i want it look very garden-like - loose arrangements, garden florals, very soft and romantic - but i'm having a hard time translating that look into a tall centerpiece. Most arrangements that i see that i like are low centerpieces that are in small urns or something.

I have found a few centerpieces that i like the shape and composition of...but you just have to ignore the colors in some of these pictures here...

What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

Speaking of Photoshoots....

look what showed up in my Blog roll! yep, that's right...McLellan updated their blog and it's US!!!!

I can't wait to see the rest of them now!!! :)

Engagement Pics Photoshoot

So Mark and I went to Franklin, TN on Sunday to have our engagement pictures taken! I was really excited to take them because it would give us the opportunity to get to know our photographers before the wedding - AND, possibly even more important...it would give them a chance to get to know us and how we behave in front of the camera (awkward, stiff, plastered smile and all....) :)

I have to say...it was kinda strange being in front of the camera for that long! Its been a long, long time since I've had my picture taken professionally. I mean, I guess you can count Senior Portraits...but before then the last time I had taken professional pictures was when I used to be in pageants when I was like 6 years old! I was really kinda nervous about how to act in front of the camera but our photographers were absolutely awesome and made us feel totally comfortable (thank god! ....good riddance awkward smile!) Our photographers are Sean and Mel from McLellan Studio. They are a husband and wife team and they totally have their shooting style down. Mel talks to you, keeps you interacting and gives you direction while taking the closeup shots and Sean is off circling around you taking candid shots from different angles. This helped so much to take the pressure off of "taking pictures" and just made it more natural like we were just hanging out, goofing around. We started out shooting in downtown Franklin around 3pm then we ended up at their friends farm later that afternoon. Mark and I wanted to get a mix of urban and rural shots so we split our time between the locations. Also, with this time of year I'm hoping to get a lot of the pretty fall foliage in the pictures. I can't wait to see them!! :)

A running joke throughout the day was the "band photoshoot" from the Flight of the Conchords episode (a show that Mark and I love)....how about a cool pose like hands in the air and smile??

Halloween - Bridal Style

Wedding inspiration even snuck it's way into my Halloween. Well, kind of...
We were suppose to be characters from Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride. I guess you can say it's a somewhat loose interpretation.....what? I didn't want to buy a blue whig or spend hours making a costume. I mean this works...right?? :)
